You Are My Sunshine 1st Birthday Party

Our newest, littlest member of the team just had a 1st birthday party! (Okay, so she’s a team member in training…). Lyra, daughter of Naturally Yours Events owner Carlene Hartline, finished out her first year with a You Are My Sunshine themed party hosted 100% virtually thanks to the virtual event platform, Remo.

BIRTHDAY GUEST PACKS TO GET THE PARTY STARTED

When hosting a virtual event, it’s sometimes necessary to include additional items with party invitations like activities and favors. For Lyra’s party, Carlene mailed party packages out with pennant banners so guests could decorate their own homes for the party, a bingo card game, Starburst candy favors, and bubbles!

As guests “entered” the party, they were grouped into tables to mix and mingle with fellow guests. Then the hosts and guest of honor were able to go around to each table to visit.

VIRTUAL BIRTHDAY PARTY GAMES + ACTIVITIES

Guests used this mingling time to fill out their Birthday Bingo cards with potential gifts Lyra would receive, phrases mom & dad might say, or objects guests might see during the party. Since prizes couldn’t be handed out in person, game winners got to choose their favorite charity to receive a donation in their name! When guests needed to take a break from mingling, they could check out the different lounges in the event platform to watch a video of Lyra’s first year, check out her milestone photos, and leave well wishes for the birthday girl or advice for her parents on how to live with a toddler!

Time for presents and for everyone to sing happy birthday to the birthday girl! Everyone loved that they could still feel involved and join in even through a computer screen. They enjoyed interacting with other guests and sending their well wishes through the group chat.

Flourish Cake Design created the sunshine themed birthday cake with a beautiful yellow ombre design. Lyra even made an outfit change into a sunshine yellow romper which she was very careful not to get any cake on- didn’t want to waste a bite!
