This past spring arrived late to Chicago, but when it did, birds chirped happily and flowers bloomed vibrantly. Any Chicagoan knows that spring is a beautiful time when countless layers can finally be shed, and the city is brought back to life by the shining sun. The sweet smell of blossoming flowers, the sight of budding trees, and the return of the gentle warmth have a peculiar effect on us, and before we know it, we start to feel a little twitterpated.

Twitterpated? You ask. Come on, you know: it’s like that scene in the movie Bambi where the owl explains to the young woodland creatures what it’s like to be completely smitten and enamored by a special certain someone; when you can’t stop smiling and feel like your heart is going to jump out of your chest because you are head-over-heels in love. Ah, yes, that blissful, starry-eyed feeling. For those twitterpated love birds getting married, Naturally Yours Events put together a little photoshoot inspired by exactly this sentiment (as featured on Wedding Chicks).

_MG_9907This shoot features a modern-meets-organic look with color-blocked antlers, featuring cascading greens along with romantic blooms. The venue is full of clean lines and white details, so we added some warm touches by including the farm table and woodsy garland centerpiece. One of our favorite details of the place setting is the wide-eyed owl water glasses. Pops of bright blue and pink are dispersed throughout the place setting, to go along with the watercolor in the invitation suite and escort cards.

Our sweets table features a stunning cake with a watercolor pattern of romantic blush tones. The adorable twitterpated cake topper is a fitting addition, along with the subtle ferns atop the blush, vintage table. For an interesting, colorful backdrop, we placed a color-blocked faux taxidermy deer head between a couple of antlers with accents of blush florals.

The lovely brides in this shoot are wearing dresses with floral elements, that are the perfect mix of organic, yet crisp and modern. Their hair is styled wispy and flowwy, and their makeup is soft and natural. All of these details- from the color-blocked deer figures and the romantic ranunculus, to the fresh white space- fit perfectly with our vision of a beautifully twitterpated, springtime wedding in the city.
