Melissa, with Melissa Hayes Photography, and I worked together to create this wispy beach photo shoot. The inspiration for this shoot was the Glencoe Beach venue that Melissa had shot at before. With its stunning views of the water, the Spanish trellis that spirits you away to another country, and the intimate picnic area, it is a perfect setting for a romantic ceremony and reception.

***UPDATE, this shoot was published on Style Me Pretty with Buying Guide AND on Sweet Violet Bride***

Our vision was very soft, natural, and feminine.  We paired a soft lace runner against the rustic picnic tables and used wooded crates to hold the table number. We draped wispy white fabric between the beams and used twine to hang glass bulbs filled with delicate flowers.

As a member of the Green Wedding Alliance, I really wanted to incorporate eco-friendly elements. We brought in florals designed by Pollen, who specializes in sustainable arrangements. Flower garlands were handmade from old sewing patterns. Paper goods designed by Tweedle Press were printed on 100% recycled and chlorine-free paper and used sustainable ink for the letterpress invitations. The whimsical plates were provided by Plate, whose co-owners discover and repurpose vintage dinnerware for events. Last but not least, the crates and plums were sourced by local farmers from the Windy City Farmers Market in Chicago.
