In the first meeting Tanya and Saumil had with us we knew they had a strong sense of love and devotion to one another and their families. They wanted to incorporate all their different cultural backgrounds while also embracing a very western style ceremony. Of course, this got us super excited because we had a ton of great ways to fuse their Indian, Puerto Rican, and African traditions into one wedding. The ceremony started with a traditional Indian Baraat, incorporated the Puerto Rican lasso ceremony with Indian marigolds woven in, and ended with the African tradition of jumping the broom. We carried these touches into the reception with Spanish tiles as escort cards and the family’s Ganesh statue as some of the decor. Through the food and music, the fusion of the day truly represented them as a couple!
