The NotWedding (now known as the Big Fake Wedding) is a unique bridal show alternative that creates a “wedding” for engaged couples, in order to see various wedding vendors at work. This way, the couples can literally picture their big day – from the ceremony to the reception – and leave with a real idea of which vendors they want to play a part in the most special day of their lives. Naturally Yours Events had the privilege of contributing to the NotWedding this past August at City View Loft.

Naturally Yours contributed two different table designs- the first one being a modern and elegant look with some bold patterns. Beginning with the gold linens and fawn napkins (M&M Special Events), they set a soft, sophisticated tone as the backdrop of the table. The plateware (Festive Frog) features lovely blush wine glasses that match perfectly with the salad plates sitting atop white vintage dinner plates. Beneath, the black and white patterned plate works as the charger for a modern, yet mismatched look paired with the vintage silverware. The gold and black menus (Sugar Pear Design) sit on top of the plate set, tying the whole look with the rest of the table.
The gold-colored brass table number (BHLDN) and goblets (re:find Joy) add a chic, metallic accent that contrast beautifully with the black branch and taper candles (Naturally Yours Events). Further adorning the table are lovely flowers (re:find Joy) that are mostly ivory and blush with pops of fuchsia and plum. This design feels like what you’d expect at an elegant tea party: graceful and soft. The second table design offers a very different alternative- featuring an eclectic, rustic, textured setting. Mahogany chairs sit next to a wood table (M&M Special Events), topped with a patterned white and blue runner. Clusters of white and grey pottery (re:find Joy) along with the gemstones, geodes and petrified wood (re:find Joy) contribute to the rural, natural theme. The plentiful flowers (re:find Joy) are mostly ivory and blush with notes of plum, peach, navy thistle and textured greens.
Plum bread & butter plates resting atop larger, grey plates create a simple place setting (Festive Frog). Each setting holds a modern color-blocked napkin topped with a vintage door knob (Nimble Well), holding fun, geometric-patterned place cards (Chykalophia). The whole design is tied together by the bold green bottles serving as water glasses (re:find Joy), with cute straws peeking out. And finally, a small wood square displays the table number (Etsy). Unlike the first design, this table setting evokes feelings of being at an outdoor dinner party surrounded by trees, hosted by a nature-loving, woodland goddess.
These two table designs contributed wonderfully to the beautiful blue, black, berry and gold palette of the first NotWedding in Chicago. Naturally Yours Events can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year’s event!
