Little Jewish Brunch Wedding On The Prairie

IT ALL STARTED WITH MUSIC AND COFFEE
Carly and Jonathan met through a mutual friend and their romance grew over a love of attending concerts together, cooking, and exploring coffee shops & record stores around their neighborhood. After Jonathan proposed with a custom vinyl record on her birthday in their favorite record store, the couple celebrated at Chiya Chai cafe. When they began planning their Jewish wedding, they enlisted the help of Carlene Hartline of Naturally Yours Events to help them create a marriage celebration that combined their interests of food & music, was eco-friendly, and focused on the safety of their family & friends in attendance.
FROLICKING WITH FALL WEDDING BLOOMS
Carly and Jonathan shared a sweet first look with each other before heading out for some portraits with each other in the midwestern wilderness. The color changing foliage set the perfect backdrop for their modern, prairie style featuring Carly’s Lillian Wild lace gown from local Chicago dress boutique, Honey Bridal, and Jonathan’s custom olive suit by Tom James.
All of these earthy tones were accented by lush florals from Romee Willow Florals with burnt orange dahlias, cappuccino and toffee roses, olive branches, blush ranunculus and cymbidium orchids.
INTIMATE, COPPER TONED JEWISH WEDDING CEREMONY
A traditional Jewish wedding was an important element for Carly & Jonathan. Rabbi Wendi from North Shore Congregation Israel officiated over their Ketubah signing and ceremony witnessed by their intimate group of 20 guests.
During this religious ceremony, a couple stands underneath a Chuppah which represents the new home they will build together. The copper arch from Romee Willow Florals served as a great foundation for the fall color palette. The groom’s personal tallit was draped over the top of the Chuppah with ivory fabric and asymmetrical floral adorned the front with pampas grass, olive branches and burnt orange floral.
YOU HAD ME AT BRUNCH…BRUNCH WEDDING
Towne & Oak restaurant in Highland Park offered a warm inviting space for Carly and Jonathan’s brunch wedding vibes. The long tables were filled with greenery, geometric terrarium centerpieces, and fall florals. The amber goblets from Chicago Vintage Weddings, watercolor place cards, and custom oat & honey soap favors finished out the guest place settings.
Guests enjoyed a seasonal brunch menu with assorted pastries, honeycrisp apple salad, smashed potatoes, eggs, salmon, and waffle bar!
LOVE AS SWEET AS PIE
Carly and Jonathan had their heart set on serving pie! We love when couples choose their favorite desserts instead of just serving what is traditional. Deerfield Bakery, one of their go-to neighborhood sweet spots, provided a selection of seasonal pies for the perfect end to their brunch wedding reception.
Happy Anniversary Carly and Jonathan!
