FROM COAST TO COAST TO AN INTIMATE SPRING WEDDING IN CHICAGO
Each from opposite sides of the country, Anne and Kyle both decided to make the move to the midwest. After living in the Chicago for years, they realized they wanted to look for their life person. So they tried their chances with the modern way of dating- online! Sparks flew when Anne & Kyle met and Kyle popped the question a few years later on a waterfall hike on a trip to Portland.
When planning their wedding, they unfortunately had to postpone plans but it gave them time to think about their most important elements for their wedding day. They wanted to have time to spend with their guests and to create an environment that was suited for both mingling and dancing.
Lytle House fit perfectly for their intimate spring wedding. The private courtyard in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood served as a lush backdrop for the couple’s simply sweet standing ceremony, officiated by the bride’s brother. The couple wrote their own vows and performed a sand unity ceremony. They combined sand from the three places they were from- West coast, East coast, and Midwest- into a custom engraved hourglass. The crowd celebrated and congratulated Anne & Kyle with a fun bubble exit!
Reception farm tables featured colorful spring florals in unique, ceramic vases from Anemone. The couple crafted custom origami table numbers that corresponded with the origami place cards. Each origami piece indicated the guests’ entree choices. We love this idea because it’s both a fashionable and functional way to show guest selections instead of stickers or stamps.
Before dinner, the couple cut their ECBG cake and listened to toasts from both their loved ones in person and virtually through the wonders of technology and a screen projector. They danced to “It’s Been You” by My Sun and Stars for their first dance and chose a combined parent dance with a classic song, “In My Life” by The Beatles.
We worked with Kristen from Naturally Yours for a May 2021 wedding that had to be postponed a year. She was wonderful to work with- she is extremely organized, calming, and energizing. Kristen helped us take our vision into a reality! She took the time to get to know us and what we wanted. We contemplated going without a wedding planner since our wedding was smaller but I am so glad we hired her. It took so much stress off our plate during a chaotic time. She is safety conscious which is helpful due to covid. We’d highly recommend her.
