Inspiration: Fall Woodland Elopement Shoot
This shoot is one of my favorites! Bold autumn blooms with vintage furniture and warm plaid details all set in the woods, and a s’mores bar! What is more perfect than that? I couldn’t have been more excited when Green Wedding Shoes published our work. You can read all about that HERE!
Our inspiration for this styled shoot was the warm and rich color palette found during the fall season. We chose elements of the shoot to include rich berry tones of burgundy and plum along with olive, blush and gold accents. Under the lush greenery of the soon-to-change trees, Naturally Yours Events designed the ceremony using a draped piece of antique lace over one of the branches of an aged oak tree. A floral tie made from burgundy and white dahlias and a vintage rug beneath the couple was the perfect touch to define the ceremony space. The light peering from the between the trees and the wildflowers in the backdrop added another element of romance.
Following the ceremony, the couple made their way to a sweetheart table that overflowed with lush florals, ferns, plum peppers, and blush berries set in vintage tulip vases from Field and Florist. A gold tabletop candelabra, handmade from branches, added a warm glow and sat on top of a berry-brown plaid table runner with matching napkins. Atop the napkins sat a monogramed place card fashioned from the wood grain textured paper seen in the invites, created by Two Little Birds Press. We soften the tablescape with blush depression champagne flutes, glasses, and chargers with gold rimmed plates and vintage gold flatware rented from Nimble Well. The table and a pair of cream-colored Victorian wingback chairs, from Shadowbox Dreams, added a sense of rustic glamor to the shoot.
For the remainder of the evening, the bride wore a floral necklace surrounded with dahlias and ferns in exchange for her elegant bouquet. It perfectly enhanced her casual, yet rich lacy dress and deep berried colored lips, applied by Debra Petrielli Freelance Hairstylist + Makeup Artist. The groom sported a plum and very textured bow tie from Fox & Brie that complemented up his causal tweed sports coat.
After dinner, the couple migrated to the lakeside location to enjoy the sunset while indulging in the s ‘mores bar that incorporated whimsical chocolate flavors, rich caramels, and gourmet marshmallows from Katherine Anne Confections. The cake, designed by Elysia Root Cakes, incorporated a gold wood grain texture with fresh berries and florals. All sweets were displayed on tree stumps with a rustic blush distressed side table and antique gold platters. Our happy couple nestled up next to the campfire, wrapped in plaid blankets, on a cream-colored Victorian settee to enjoy their garnished s ‘mores. The evening concluded with laughs, blush wine and a romantic setting for the perfect night to remember.
