Tara and Mitch were mutual friends before they began dating, and they ended up falling in love! Mitch proposed to Tara while they were in Portland, on a hill overlooking the city. The two wanted a casual, yet romantic day to celebrate their matrimony. They decided to have their wedding in the west loop of Chicago, at a unique venue called City Winery. They had their romantic ceremony (officiated by Rev It Up!) out on the patio, as well as cocktail hour, then the reception inside. Since it was a hot July day, they provided paper fans for all of their guests, adding a little whimsy to their decor. Live music was played for both their ceremony and their reception (by Garrett Degnan & Lisa Martirena and Orchestra 33). The bridesmaids dresses were selected by each bridesmaid – all long, summer dresses in a variety of warm colors. The groomsmen wore navy suits. The flowers (done by Fab Flora) consisted of deep purples, lavender, peach, and pink, and also included gorgeous succulents. The lighting, provided by Sound Investment, really created a romantic tone in the reception. West Town Bakery, Tara and Mitch’s favorite, supplied their dessert – in the form of cake balls. Other vendors involved in their big day were Sound InvestmentDebra Petrielli, Aries Charter, and 5411 Empanadas. Check out their awesome photos by Matushek Photography!
