It has been exactly one year since Heather and Matt tied the knot. These two wonderful people came to me as day-of clients when they learned their ceremony venue burnt down!

I remember the meeting so well– we were in a coffee shop in Edgewater when they told me about all their amazing wedding details– reception at Uncommon Ground, a school bus shuttle for guests and wedding party, Pollen doing the bouquets/boutonnieres, lovely DIY details, and their excitement for the Chicago Green Wedding Alliance. Then, at the end of the meeting, they mention the little snag of not having a ceremony space a month before the big day!

All-in-all it worked out beautifully. They quickly found another space to hold the ceremony at the Swedish American Museum. The staff there were so friendly and it was a quick ride over to Uncommon Ground Devon for their reception and all vegetarian feast.

Guests enjoyed craft brews and local wines, while jamming out to tunes from Okyne Medialab. The night finished well with a delicious cake from Cafe Selmarie and handmade bars of soap as favors. Last I heard, Heather and Matt have been making a business out of selling handmade and wonderful bars of soap. How fun!
