Happy anniversary to a very special couple, Crisselda and Chris! Crisselda (a California native) met Chris while they were attending Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. They hit it off thanks to the “snowpocalypse” that happened in Chicago during the winter of 2011. For those who are not familiar with this infamous snow storm, this was a blizzard that shut Chicago down- bringing Lake Shore Drive and every other major street to a standstill. Closed in a house with mutual friends, Crisselda and Chris began to feel warm and fuzzy for each other and then started dating!
Chris proposed to Crisselda by reenacting one of their first dates using a photo book that he made. Photos are very important to them, so they made it a point to hire an amazing photographer: Coach House Pictures. Take a look at their wedding day photos and relive their big day below.
Their lovely wedding was in the summer, during a gorgeous sunny day. The couple said their I Dos on the rooftop of a really cool space called Ignite Glass Studios, overlooking the Chicago skyline. There were lovely fern chair garlands strewn about, and chair ties adding romantic and soft, natural components to the setting. The bridesmaids carried ferns, while the bride carried a gorgeous floral bouquet by Becca Blue Flowers.
The gorgeous wedding cake by Elysia Root Cakes was a semi-naked cake topped with fresh floral.
Crisselda and Chris’ wedding style was modern, romantic and bohemian. Their wedding colors were blush, peach, pink, and pops of purple. They incorporated a lot of copper/rose gold details throughout the decor: from vases to the really cool copper wire table numbers. Half of the table centerpieces were cool glass lanterns and the other half were whimsical and wispy floral centerpieces. Their escort cards were displayed in copper frames, clipped and hanging from twine. Reminiscent of their engagement story, their guest book was a photo book.
Their wedding reception was so fun and lively. Beatboxing AND breakdancing both occurred, and everyone just had a fantastic time celebrating the couple’s love.
Other vendors involved in their big day were Paramount Events, Old North Film Company, Cage and Aquarium Productions, GlitterGuts, Insomnia Cookies, Shadow Box Dreams Vintage, Nimble Well, Nika Vaughan Bridal Artists, Atmosphere Events Group, and Binny’s.
Happy anniversary, you two!
