Happy Anniversary: Amanda & Dan

One year ago, Amanda and Dan became husband and wife during a cool fall day on the north side of Chicago. Autumn in the midwest oftentimes brings feelings of nostalgia and familiarity, and those are a couple of sentiments that characterized their lovely wedding. Megan Saul Photography captured their wedding day better than imaginable, encapsulating the look and feel of their wedding with the click of a camera.

Their entire day had woodland characteristics that made you feel like you were in a cabin in front of a warm fire. Their venue, Brimfield Chicago, was the perfect space to host their wedding. It is a unique, vintage and antique home decor store, bursting with eclectic relics. From the deer heads and antique shotguns displayed on the walls to the flannel-looking wallpaper, it emphasized the perfect autumn atmosphere. The groom’s boutonnière and the bride’s bouquet were made of felt, true to the day’s warm and fuzzy feeling. Small pops of gorgeous flowers and one larger arrangement by Becca Blue Flowers brightened up the space, and Style Matters played some fun tunes for everyone dancing.

When Amanda and Dan got engaged, they decided to get matching tattoos: a flame with stars above, representing the amount of years that they had been together. This image became a visual motif throughout their wedding; it could be found on the invitation suite (which they designed themselves), and engraved on their wooden “guest book”.

The couple had a sweet, intimate ceremony in which their friend officiated. Their guests surrounded them as they exchanged personalized vows. 

Afterward, they had a cocktail style reception that included delicious passed appetizers by FIG Catering. The food was largely vegetarian, and fit various different flavor profiles. Guests mingled, ate delicious food, drank exquisite drinks and celebrated the couple’s love for one another.

In place of a photo booth, they had Doodlebooth making quirky sketches of their guests. Amanda and Dan’s wedding was truly the perfect, intimate fall wedding in Chicago with gorgeous detail and tons of love.
