Happy Anniversary: Amanda & Dan

Amanda and Dan’s wedding was truly an intimate, artistic affair with delicious food and incredible drinks. The couple wanted their wedding to feel true to themselves, so it’s no surprise that they wanted an intimate wedding, with food and drink that would blow everyone’s socks off. One aspect that they needed to meet halfway on, however, was that Amanda loves a vintage style and Dan likes a more modern one. They decided that the perfect venue for this occasion was Boarding House, a venue that “exudes a friendly, relaxed charm on every level”; it has tall windows overlooking the city of Chicago, modern green and grey printed wallpaper, and rustic farmhouse tables and chairs. The ceremony was on the top floor, where the bride walked down the stairway aisle, passing eclectic art installations that were adorned with pops of romantic florals true to their color palette (soft pinks, bold greens, and navy). Amanda and Dan exchanged their I Dos beneath a unique art installation of suspended wine bottles. After the romantic ceremony, to say that guests ate well is an understatement. First came light nibbles and cheese platters, with an amazing family style dinner afterward to wow any palette: braised short ribs with creamy polenta, seared scallops, chicken with seasonal risotto. They had a sommelier choose the perfect wines to go with dinner, and they also had a wonderful specialty cocktail list.
