Happy Anniversary: Alexis and Dan

When Dan proposed at the iconic Chicago Crown Fountain in Millenium Park, Alexis knew they would be getting married in Chicago. Alexis, a residential interior designer, had an amazing vision for the wedding- an urban setting with a very chic feel, a little eclectic, but oh so romantic!
Alexis and Dan got married at RM Champagne Salon. The eclectic rustic decor and chic French accents made it the perfect spot for this couple. They added a few green touches with cascading bunches of garland as their ceremony backdrop and stunning flowers on concrete pedestals. Their immediate family sat on a grouping of mismatched chairs, while other guests surrounded the couple in a standing ceremony. Family friends performed a beautiful duet as Alexis made her way down the aisle.
After ceremony and cocktails in the outdoor patio, guests made their way to the beautiful Nellcote restaurant next door. With its wall of dried lavender, crystal chandeliers, concrete pillars, and mix of marble and wooden tables- this space is the epitome of rustic elegance with a French twist. In order to not overtake the room, Alexis and Dan chose florals in soft whites and blush to flow down the center of the tables. The flowers were accented with her mother’s collection of white antique marble and mercury glass. Lighting was key with this tablescape and we made sure to incorporate tons of soft glowing candles.
One of may favorite details were these escort cards of dried lavender springs wrapped in raffia. We placed organic cotton muslin bags with a celtic ‘B’ stamp under the bag so guests could take them home to use as a sachets.
Guests enjoyed a family style meal that was all seasonal and locally sourced. The couple then cut their cake and danced to John Prine’s ‘In Spite of Ourselves’ – which really set the perfect tone for their romantic evening. All these beautiful images of the day were captured by Heather DeCamp Photography.
Happy first anniversary to Alexis and Dan!
