One year ago today, Alexi and Patrick sealed their love with a kiss and got married! This sweet couple met through mutual friends and lived in the same neighborhood Chicago neighborhood, Lincoln Park. He would always ask her out, and she would always say no – until one fateful day that she finally said yes. Thankfully she did, because they fell in love and decided to get married. Take a peek at their wedding photos by Studio Starling below.

Alexi (who is Greek) and Patrick got married during a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony at St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox in Edgewater. They followed suit from her parents, who had also gotten married there years before. Something that was very important to the couple was incorporating the melding of traditions and their personalities into their wedding. Their beautiful ceremony music was provided by Accolade Musicians

Chicago wedding planner Their reception was held at Gallery 1028, and was whimsical yet simply chic with a 1970’s discotech vibe (think retro Los Angeles, Sunset Strip glam). The invitations were done in a thermography style with a bold 1970s font, by CW Designs. They had disco balls (provided by Studio AG) hanging above the dance floor, beautiful ivy hanging from the chandeliers, and bold, pink floral arrangements with an eclectic grouping of vintage candle sticks (floral and greenery by Larkspur). Her dress was so classic but fun with a large bow in the back. They had lots of quirky signs and beautiful colorful vintage glassware. Going along with the theme, their table numbers were made from plexiglass. In honor of Patrick and his family heritage, they had the Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band come in to play after cocktail hour. Their lovely wedding cake was funfetti flavored, and their sweets table also had brownies, cookies and an ice cream bar to reflect their playful demeanor.
