Elephants and Chevron, Sonya’s Baby Shower

When we were asked to help Sonya (mama-to-be) and her sister Maya plan this baby shower in May, we were so excited. Sonya and her husband, Rohit, wanted the baby’s gender to be a surprise so we were asked to keep the decor a bit neutral with a yellow, grey, and orange palette. Sonya loves a lot of texture and pattern and since the baby’s nursery was going to be elephant themed we used some chevron and polka dot details with a splash of elephants.
The outcome was adorable! We made colorful pom-pom clouds with showers of polka dot garland on the walls and in windows. Floral details were perfectly executed with pops of orange and yellow florals in grey wine bottles from Pistil & Vine. Guests had a blast munching on food from FIG Catering and sweets from Luscious Layers. And at the end of the day they took home some mini bottles of champagne.
One of the cutest parts of the day was when we got all the girls together to guess the baby’s gender. Each guest select their gender guess by pinning a mustache or lip pin on. The fabulous Genevieve, owner of The Way We Click Photography, captured the fun spirit of this day perfectly.
And, just two days ago we planned Maya’s baby shower. Congrats to both sisters on their growing families!
