We met Alex & Joanna at Indie Wed last February and discovered they wanted to get married in that year. Many of the venues they were looking at were booked and they were feeling discouraged. Seeing as we know all the hot new spots to say your “I dos” we told them to check out The Joinery. They left Indie Wed, drove right over, booked their venue, and now had a few months to bring it all together. Needless to say, they for sure needed some of NYE’s planning power!

Together, we were able to pull together a beautiful spring wedding where soft colors met industrial touches, elegance endured a pizza party, and laughter mingled with love. The day was captured by Jim Vondruska Photography– scroll through for more details!

What’s not to love about this steel grey, two-piece gown by the amazing Kpoene at Mignonette Bridal.

This textured, yet soft bouquet was the perfect amount of boho beauty for the Bride to carry. All florals for the day were provided by Field & Florist. Fun Fact: they have an amazing farm in SW Michigan that allows them to use mostly local grown flowers for all event designs!

Shout out to NYE team members- Lauren (lead coordinator) and Carlene (owner/assistant for the day)- hard at work to capture the perfect Instagram shot.

The couple wanted to embrace the wood working origins of The Joinery, an old cabinet making facility. We utilized industrial touches in all the decor like this “foreman’s checklist” of clip boards as an escort card table.

We kept the wooden top farm tables exposed and added candles for warmth.

Yes- we had a pizza party. A very classy pizza party! What’s Chicago without some delicious pie? The spread and staffing was provided by Reno Chicago.

Of course we had Bang Bang Pie for dessert too… and Stan’s donuts…and popcorn. Our sweet tooth has been satisfied.

Congratulations Alex & Joanna and thank you for letting us be part of your special day!
